One day i read this quote on a picture I used for my display picture on my blackberry mobile phone and it changed my actions and started sleeping for long hours only to discover that too much sleep gives birth to poverty and those are the days that I experienced what it truly means to be broke. After that experience I made a decision to sleep for maximum of four hours everyday and it has really improved my productivity. All the wealthy people I know don’t sleep too much and not because they have sleepless night but because those are the time they work and do many things while the poor man is busy sleeping.
One of the biggest killer of motivation is being tired. The lack of sleep is one of the worst things you can do for yourself if you want to get and stay motivated. Thomas Edison is a historical figure, and a famous inventor who invented the light bulb that we still use to this day. According to ‘The New York Times’, Thomas only required 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night. Thomas Edison states that sleep is “a heritage from our cave days.”
Someone said to me that “sleep is for the dead and all what he does is to rest for some few hours before getting back to work” I believe you can’t cheat nature but you have to discipline and control your mind, body and soul to achieve greatness in life. Stop trying to get 8 hours of sleep. Sadly, the answer to that question is far from simple. How much sleep an individual needs is a complicated question to answer because it depends on the individual and many factors including genetic traits.
When every minute can be spent to ensure a brighter future, why waste that time sleeping? There is nothing productive about sleeping any more than 6 hours a day. And on some days, you might have to sleep 4 hours, or even 3! On some nights, you may have to avoid sleep completely, because that’s the price you must pay when you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe!
P.S: You are reading this lovely article today because i didn’t sleep all through the night.
